Myanmar Blue Sky Recue Development Council from the People’s Republic of China donated three rubber life boats and ten safety kits to the Disaster Management Department under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
The donation ceremony was held on Tuesday morning in the Disaster Management Department meeting hall near Thamine Junction, Yangon. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ko Ko Naing, the Director-General of the Disaster Management Department, Mr. Yang Shouzhen, the Political Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, U Sein Win Aung, the chairman of Myanmar-China Friendship Association, Mr. Yang Yupu, the person in charge of China Blue Sky Recure Team Division and Mr. Liu Wei, the representative from Myanmar Blue Sky Rescure Development Council.
“Mostly the elders, the children and the females are the victims of the natural disasters. The life boats are needed to rescue them in particular. Now, we are going to use these life boats to save them,” said Dr. Ko Ko Naing.
Myanmar Blue Sky Rescue Development Council first reached Myanmar in 2014 when they rescued the Myanmar students from an avalanche of an ice mountain. In 2015, the council conducted flood relief measures in cooperation with the Social Welfare Department. Now, they are conducting the life saving training courses.
Out of over 600 rescue teams from China, the China Blue Sky Rescure Team is one of the famous teams. There are about 20,000 relief experts and over 300,000 volunteers in China.— Myint Maung Soe (Translated by Hay Mar)
