Lightning strike causes fire at a high school in Chaunghnagua Village in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State at about 6:45 am on 28 August.

A fire broke out at the school after a lightning hit an electric wire in the school and totally destroyed two school buildings.

Firemen from the Township Fire Services Department rushed to the scene to fight the fire in cooperation with auxiliary firefighters using five fire engines, and the blaze was successfully extinguished at about 8:00 am. But no casualties were reported, according to an officer from the township Fire Services Department.
