With the aim of boosting the income of local people and their socio-economic status, loans to implement emerald green projects were disbursed to farmers at New Oo Monastery in Po Oo Village in Gangaw Township, Magway Region yesterday.

The disbursement of the loan is the second of its kind and an official from the Township’s Rural Development Department clarified the purpose of the project and explained about rules and procedures of the emerald green projects to be followed by rural people. 

Afterwards, an official handed over K 33.0 million to chairman of village Emerald Green Project committee.

Altogether 184 people - 75 people in agriculture, 97 in livestock breeding and 12 in marketing received loans.—Ye Man
