With the aim of boosting the income of local people and narrowing the gap of rural and urban areas, loans for implementation of emerald green projects were disbursed to farmers in Ale Village and Thayar Aye Village in Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State this morning. The disbursement of loan is the first of its kind in the villages.

On the occasion, an official from the township Department of Rural Development delivered an opening speech and clarified the purpose of the project and explained rules and regulations of the emerald green projects to be abode by rural people.

Afterwards, an official and staff from the Township DRD handed over a total of K 29.8 million to 55 members of village emerald green project committee in Ale village. Altogether – one people in agriculture business, two in livestock breeding business, 13 in small business, 10 people who will attend vocational school and 29 in fisheries business received loans of the project.

In addition, staff from the Township DRD went to Thayar Aye Village and dispensed a total of K 29.8 million to 32 members of village emerald green project committee. Altogether – 22 people in agriculture business, eight in livestock breeding business, two in small business received loans of the project. —Township IPRD
