With the aim of boosting the income of local people and their socio-economic status, Department of Rural Development under Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation disbursed loans to implement emerald green projects to farmers at the Dhamayone in Thittaw Village, Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State on 12 September.
The disbursement of loan is the second of its kind in which staff officer of the Township’s DRD U Thein Tun clarified the purpose of the project and explained about rules and procedures of the emerald green projects to be abided by rural people.
Afterwards, officials from DRD handed over K 31.9 million to local people in Thittaw Village. Altogether 52 people - 26 people in agriculture business, six in livestock breeding business, 19 in trading business, one who will attend vocational school received loans.
Department of Rural Development disbursed K 29.1 loans for implementation of emerald green projects to 58 farmers in Thittaw Village in 2018-2019, it is learnt.—Thet Lwin Soe, IPRD
