Local people aged 18 and above received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the town hall in Panhaik Ward in Namtu Township of Kyaukme District in Shan State(North) yesterday, according to the Township Department of Health.

 

On the occasion, healthcare workers monitored the body temperatures and blood pressures of local people before administering the vaccine to them. Afterwards, medical workers vaccinated 44 local people with the vaccine in the collaboration of volunteers in line with COVID-19 health guidelines set by Ministry of Health.

 

As of January 25, a total of 7554 local people and 1094 students have been fully vaccinated with two required shots while 5776 local people and 82 students have been vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine, according the an official from the Township committee on COVID-19 control, prevention and treatment.—Lu Maw (IPRD)
