ACCORDING to Pwintbyu Town-ship Irrigation and Water Utili-sation  Department  water  over  flowing  above  the  Kyi  Ohn  Gyi  Wa Dam spillway was found to be 5 ft. 8 inches at 6 am on 17 August and this was not an amount to be concerned for.

“Full  water  depth  of  Kyi  Ohn  Gyi  Wa  Dam  in  Pwintbyu  Township was 340 ft. According to measurements taken at 6 am water  was  overflowing  5  ft.  8  inches above the spillway. This was  not  an  amount  to  be  concerned  for  as  normal  overflow  over the spillway was from 5 to 6 ft. The situation of the dam was monitored  by  the  department  and  the  public  informed  about  it,” said Pwintbyu Township Ir-rigation  and  Water  Utilisation  Department official U Aung Thu Lin.—Ye Win Naing (NyaungU) (Translated by Zaw Min)
