Non-essential retailers are reopening in England after the government relaxed restrictions that it had imposed on economic activity to contain the coronavirus.
The second lockdown began on November 5 amid a resurgence of infections. Residents were required to stay at home and non-essential businesses had to remain closed.
On Wednesday, Central London was crowded with shoppers as department stores, clothing shops and other retailers resumed business.
But some of the shoppers voiced concern that they could not maintain social distancing.
