STATE Administration Council Member, Deputy Prime Minis­ter and Union Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Admiral Tin Aung San attended the cere­mony to offer basic food supplies and cash awards to the temporar­ily displaced persons in Loikaw Township on Wednesday.

 

These people fled their na­tive places due to terrorist at­tacks and natural disasters and returned to their towns. At the ceremony, Union Minister Lt- Gen Tun Tun Naung clarified the cash assistance to those whose houses were destroyed in terror­ist attacks, and rice, cooking oil, beans and salt provided by the Ministry of Border Affairs for the temporarily displaced persons for natural disasters. State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin clarified the donation of rice, cooking oil, beans and salt by the Kayah State government to those who fled Loikaw and returned.

 

At the ceremony, the Ad­miral and party donated K211.1 million to repair 251 houses and foodstuffs to 1,661 temporarily displaced persons due to natural disasters and 334 people who re­turned to Loikaw.

 

They also observed the re­pair work on the IPRD building of Loikaw District, the Community Centre and training hall, staff housing in Naungya (A) Ward and accommodation of staff. They cordially met with the staff and families and presented foodstuffs to them.

 

In the evening, the dinner marking Kayah State Day was held at the State Hall, and the State chief minister made a greeting speech and gave the commemorative gifts to the guests.

 

The dinner event contained traditional dance performances of Kayah, Kayan, Shan and Pa-O ethnic dance groups. The Admi­ral gave K3 million and a flower bouquet to the ethnic traditional dance troupes and music bands.

 

The Admiral and party in­spected the effective use of wa­ter using solar power well at the seasonal crop plantation of the state Department of Agriculture and plantations in the model field yesterday morning.

 

The Admiral also met with staff of the Electricity and Energy departments at the Kayah State Hall, and the relevant officials clarified the power distribution system, power generation sys­tem of Bilu Creek, national grid (Loikaw) and fuel distribution.
