French President Emmanuel Macron says the conditions are ready for a US-Iran summit, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Macron told reporters on Tuesday that it is up to the United States and Iran to regain the momentum.
The remark came after Macron's summit with US President Donald Trump and his three-way meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, earlier in the day.
The agenda for a possible US-Iran summit is likely to include Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs, as well as the lifting of US economic sanctions.
Macron warned that he sees this as the only opportunity for Trump and Rouhani to meet in the coming weeks and months.
