The Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank has reportedly embarked on disbursing monsoon agricultural loans to farmers from Einme Township, Ayeyawady Region since 15 May.
The agricultural loan is set Ks. 150,000 for per acre of farmland, according to Daw Aye Aye Tin, Manager from the MADB.“We are trying our best to dole out monsoon agricultural loans to local farmers in time. Disbursement of monsoon agricultural loans is much benficial to local farmers because it is low interest rate,” she said.
The MADB would dispense Ks. 12.5 billion of monsoon agricultural loans to 13,192 farmers from 98 village-tracts in the township and the disbursement period would last until 30 September. The MADB has so far given out over Ks. 2.3 billion to 2,370 farmers from 16 village-tracts in the township.
In an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, MADB employees urged farmers to stay 3 ft. apart, wear face masks and wash their hands at hand basins while waiting for agricultural loans at the MADB branch office.
