Agricultural loans were disbursed to tea farmers from Pinlaung Township, PaO Self-Administered Zone in Shan State from 15 to 23 June.
The loan payment aimed at helping tea farmers struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic was conducted in a monastery. Staff from Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank led by Manager Daw Thidar Soe gave out Ks. 665 million to 1,507 tea farmers from twelve village-tracts for 13,300 acres of tea plantations through MPE Two Step Loan system.
The loans at a rate of Ks. 50,000 per acre of tea plantation must be reportedly repaid to the MADB not later than 31 March 2021.
