With a view to cultivating monsoon crops conveniently, the Myanmar’s Agricultural Development Bank branch in NyaungU Township, Mandalay Region has begun disbursement of monsoon agricultural loans to farmers since 6 May.
So far more than Ks. 2 billion of monsoon agricultural loans has been given out to 3,407 farmers from 31 village-tracts in the township, said Daw Shwe Zin Htay, township manager of the MADB. Over Ks. 8 billion has been earmarked for disbursing monsoon agricultural loans to around 13,200 farmers from 221 villages this fiscal year.
More than Ks. 2 billion of agricultural loans was given to 3,407 farmers in the township for 22,112 acres of farmland at the rate of Ks. 150,000 per acre, she added.—Ye Win Naing
