TAMARIND flake, produced in Magway Region and enjoyed by all ages, has been selling well.
Tamarind flake is one of Magway’s major local products and the most marketable item.
“Local product, tamarind flake is the most marketable. We have made different kinds of tamarind-related food products such as tamarind flake, tamarind toffee and medicinal tamarind paste. Of them, tamarind flake is our major product and it is sweet and a little sour that can help ease dizziness and improve digestion. People of all ages enjoy it and can be used as a treat when your guests visit your home,” said Ma Ei Ei Kyaw from the Shwenyamyay local food products distribution in Magway Township.
The tamarind flake has orders from different regions and states across the country including Yangon, Mandalay, Monywa, Tachilek and Myawady, and Yangon is the major destination.
“Tamarind flake is manufactured in Magway from generation to generation. Its trade is super good. We have orders from different cities and among them, Yangon Region is the major destination,” she added.
In addition to tamarind flake, other fruit flavours such as strawberry flake, orange flake, lemon flake, pineapple flake and colourful medicinal tamarind toffee are also made in Magway. — Thit Taw/ZS
