One man was arrested for gold mining illegally in the prohibited area near Pyithayar Village in Katha Township, Sagaing Region yesterday. 

A combined squad led by Police Sub-Inspector Zaw Min Tun together with eye witnesses, based on an anonymous tip, went to an illegal gold mine near Pyithayar Village, Katha Township under the close supervision of the head of the township police force Police Major Myint Pe. They found one man with an engine generator and other items used in gold mining. 

The illegal gold miner has been charged under the Myanmar Mines Law by the local police station.
