Mahlaing, December 20

A man was arrested for stealing a motorbike in the town of Mahlaing, Meikhtila district, Mandalay region yesterday afternoon, according to Police Captain Than Tun, head of Mahlaing Police Station.

Acting on information received, a police team on patrol together with witnesses searched a house in Ward-3, Mahlaing town. The police found a man named Zaw Htet Aung,25, while he was spraying paint onto the dismantled parts of a motorbike. When questioned over the ownership of the motorbike, he failed to convince the police that the motorbike was his personal property. The police arrested the man on suspicion of stealing the motorbike.

After further investigations, it is known that the motorbike belongs to Daw Than Soe, a teacher from Basic Education High School, said Police Captain Than Tun.—Bo Bo (Mahlaing)
