A man was burned to death after a car caught fire on the Mandalay-TadaU International Airport Road in TadaU Township, Mandalay Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

           

The accident occurred between mileposts 7/5 and 7/6 on the Mandalay-TadaU International Airport Road near Themaungkan Village at about 6:20 p.m. on 18 June. Firefighters from the local fire services stations rushed to the scene of accident after receiving information that a car crashed into a lamp post after the driver lost control of the car. They took about 15 minutes to completely put out the flame.

           

The car was badly damaged in the incident and the driver identified as U Myo Khant was killed on the spot. The corpse of the deceased was sent to a public hospital for autopsy by an ambulance from a local social organization and action has been taken against the driver.—MOHA
