A man has killed at least 16 people, including a police officer, in a shooting rampage in eastern Canada.
The man opened fire in several locations across the province of Nova Scotia between Saturday night and Sunday. He was driving a vehicle that was made to look like a police cruiser.
Police identified the gunman as a 51-year-old Nova Scotia resident, Gabriel Wortman. They said Wortman died after a shootout with police near a gas station on Sunday morning.
Police are trying to find out if there are any more victims.
Local media say the attacker ran a denture clinic.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement on Sunday and said, "Our hearts go out to the people who have lost loved ones."
Shooting incidents in Canada are fairly rare. The country has gun control laws.
