The Ayeyawady COVID-19 treatment centre (Mandalay) is expanded to 375-bed centre, which was constructed in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Sports, and now it offers treatment to the patients.


Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr Zaw Myint Maung inspected the construction works at the COVID-19 centre together with Mandalay Mayor Dr Ye Lwin and other officials. Chairman of Ayayawady Foundation U Zaw Zaw, Prof Dr Khin Maung Lwin, Rector of University of Medicine (Mandalay), Medical Superintendent Dr Zaw Win Tun, in-charge of Ayeyawady Centre (Mandalay) reported on the status of construction.


The centre constructed in Mandalar Thiri Sports Stadium was expanded from a 300-bed to 375-bed centre including ICU/HDU.


The centre is fully provided with modern medical equipment for the patients while the ICU/HDU with Haemodialysis Machine, modern medical equipment, including labs. The Ministry of Health and Sports manages the healthcare services, and treatment for the patients and the foundation provides meals for the healthcare workers, volunteers and patients. There will be also a Test and Care centre to conduct health checks. The foundation constructed a 1000-bed COVID-19 treatment centre in Yangon and 375-bed centre in Mandalay.
