U Zaw Myo Latt, Director of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism of Mandalay Region, said that Pyu Kan Village in Tada-U Township will be developed as a tourist destination to attract more tourists to Mandalay Region in the post-COVID-19 period.

In developing Pyu Kan Village in Tada-U Township as a new tourist destination, trips for learning about the lives of the rural people, tours for relaxation, agricultural-based tourism, and bird watching tours to see migratory birds in Pyu Lake will be introduced to tourists.

“We are trying to revive the tourism businesses in the post-COVID-19 period. We are providing training for human resources development during the COVID-19 crisis, and COVID-19 related guidelines have been issued to ensure the safe operation of the tourism sector after the crisis. We have arranged in order for tourism-related organizations to follow these guidelines,” said U Zaw Myo Latt. “Our department has been cooperating with associated organizations, including the Union of Myanmar Travel Association, Myanmar Tourism Guides Association and Myanmar Hotelier Association to identify new tourist destinations.

The world’s rarest and most endangered bird species including Mallards and Waterbirds, often comes to the Pyu Lake.
