With the financial assistance from SK Innovation, Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) and Korea Association for UN Environment, planted about 45,000 mangroves in an area in Letkokkon, Kawhmu Township, recently.


Volunteers including local people, officials of the Forest Department and staff of the Overall Service Management totalling about 30 participated in planting mangroves on 18 hectares of the village.


The activity is a part of close cooperation between AFoCo and Korea Association for UN Environment to help restore the natural wetland area in fighting against climate change in Myanmar.
