The number of tourists visiting Kimmon Chone beach in Thayetchaung Township in Taninthayi Region has been increasing since the very beginning of January. “This beach has only been popular for about two months. These days, there is a lot of traffic. This beach is long and clear and good for swimming. Large shady trees grow along the beach so you can swim and rest for a while,” said a visitor from Myeik.
The beach is also considered to be a tourist destination not only for local tourists but also for international tourists. The natural rock formations and the mermaid statue are good places to take a souvenir photo at the beautiful sandy beach with She-Oaks.
“Coming to this beach also provides fresh air and free mind. It is a moment of freedom from the oppressive city life,” said a male visitor to the beach.
The beach is located in Thayetchaung Township, about 92 miles far from Myeik. It takes about two and a half hours drive and can be reached with the help of sign boards that direct to the beach. For those who want to cook fresh seafood at the beach, there are fishing boats nearby which sell fresh seafood and the beach can be turned into the party to celebrate birthday or any other special day.
