The marble entrepreneurs association will be organized to fix the same marble prices in the post-COVID-19 period, said U Soe Win, marble businessperson of Sagyin Village in Madaya Township of Mandalay Region.

The entrepreneurs discussed to form the association containing at least 20 members who have licences. The marble can be sold at the same prices after forming such an association.

“We will organize marble entrepreneurs association to designate the same prices in the post-COVID-19 period. Currently, the transaction goes online. Although the sale is good, there are still difficulties in some orders. If we form the association, such issues can be solved. The members must have licences, and we will not accept the non-licence holders. Currently, there are more than 60 licence holders. There are also more than 300 small marble businesses which produce marble Buddha statues in our Sagyin Village. The business people need to apply for licences,” he said.

The association will also cooperate with the officials of the tourism sector to improve the tourism industry by implementing the tour destinations in Sagyin Village. They will also submit proposals to the relevant departments to form the marble entrepreneurs association.
