Chaung-U, May 8

Members of Chaung-U township Committee on Covid-19 Containment and Emergency Response distributed facial masks to passers-by in front of the main market in the town of Chaung-U, Sagaing region this morning.

The aim of the campaign is to help local people adopt the practice of wearing facial masks when they go out in the times of Covid-19 outbreak. We have distributed 500 pieces of facial masks including 250 home-made masks to passers-by this morning, asking them to wear masks when they go out. The township-level committee is planning to distribute more masks to local people free of charge, said U Aung Baw, chairman of the township Committee on Covid-19 Containment and Emergency Response.

With the cooperation from the township women affairs association, the township Covid-19 committee is making arrangements to produce more masks.
