Firemen from the Township Fire Services Department conducted mass cleaning in the compound of Hanthawady monastery in the town of Wakhema, Ayewady region this morning in commemoration of the 73rd Myanmar Fire brigade Day which will fall on May 5.
Firemen led by Deputy Staff Officer U Myo Min Latt also carried out the cleaning at Mya Theindan pagoda and Yan Aung Myin pagoda the previous days.
In the activities, the firemen cleaned bushes and trashes away, sluiced down the platform around the pagodas and improved the town’s drainage system, handing out pamphlets on the risk of fire.—Hlun Thiha (IPRD)
