Mechanized paddy cultivation jointly organized by the township agricultural department and the township mechanized farming department was demonstrated in the five-acre paddy field owned by U Taik Kyi Aung in Ywashe village-tract, Depayin township, Sagaing region yesterday morning.

In the event, township management committee chairman U Than Tun Aung made a speech. Then, U Aye Min Tun, head of the township agriculture department explained the aim of the demonstration, answering questions raised by local farmers.

 Mechanized paddy cultivation can save time, cost and solve the scarcity of agricultural workers, boosting paddy yield, said the agricultural official.—Win Oo (Zeyar Tine)
