A coordination meeting on holding of Bago region investment fair was held at Tawwin Hantha hall of the region government’s office in the town of Bago, Bago region yesterday morning.
First, Bago Region Chief Minister U Win Thein said that departmental staff and businessmen at home and abroad need to work harmoniously to boost the region’s economy. Bago region is at the center of road transport network and is linked with sea ports. Investment opportunities should be created as Bago region offers investors tax exemption of up to two years than Yangon region.
Then, U Ko Ko Latt, secretary of Bago Region Investment Committee reported on preparations for Bago region investment fair 2020. Dr. Wunna Aung, director of Directorate of Investment and Companies explained the aim of the fair. Afterwards, U Nyarna Soe from Myanmar Survey Research Company made a PowerPoint presentation on the work plan for holding the fair and experiences learnt from investment fairs held in other regions. The regional ministers and departmental personnel also gave suggestions.
Bago region Investment Fair 2020 is intended to explore untapped business opportunities in the region, to provide facts for investors at home and abroad and to provide job opportunities for local people.—Tin Soe (Bago)
