Meiktila, 4 March
Meiktila Township in Mandalay Region, is working to exceed its target for onion cultivation. The Township Agriculture Department is focused on achieving the desired yield for the planted area.
For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, 1,439 acres of winter onions were initially set for cultivation. Local farmers have been actively engaged in growing these onions.
To ensure both the target yield and the full cultivation of the designated area, the Meiktila Township Agriculture Department and its staff have been collaborating closely with local farmers, providing essential technical support. As a result, 1,902 acres of winter onions were cultivated, surpassing the original target.—Thein Myint Kyaw (Meiktila)
