A total of 820 acres will be cultivated with summer paddy and sesame crops in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, using water from irrigation systems and local lakes in Meiktila Township, Mandalay Region, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

The Township has designated 820 acres for planting summer paddy and other crops, utilizing water from the Chaukkaw irrigation system. The Township Agriculture Department is working closely with local farmers to ensure the target yield is met. Water for summer paddy cultivation has been available since February 15, and local farmers have already begun planting.

The cultivation areas are distributed in the Township as follows: 245 acres of summer paddy in the Htamongkan village tract, 50 acres of summer paddy in the Nyaungkai village tract, 75 acres of summer paddy in the Makyisu village tract, 150 acres of summer sesame in the Tawma village tract, 100 acres of summer sesame in the Zaungchangonet village tract, 55 acres of summer paddy in the Mongtai village tract, using Mongtai Irrigation Water, 95 acres of summer paddy, and 50 acres of summer paddy using the Chaungkok irrigation system.— Thein Myint Kyaw (Meiktila)
