MYANMAR Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) changed the contribution fees of new member CMP factories according to the market trading rate of the Central Bank of Myanmar starting from 1 February 2025.
MGMA set up the Myanmar Garment Human Resources Development Training Centre (MGHRDC) on 25 March 2009 to offer free capacity building and development courses to workers from the garment industry and create greater job opportunities.
According to MGMA’s work executive committee’s meeting resolutions (2/2024) and (1/2025), contribution fees for import/export companies working on a Cutting, Making and Packaging basis will be amended starting from 15 February 2024; US$1,000 (equivalent amount of Myanmar Kyat as per CBM’s market trading rate of K3,600 against a US dollar) for wholly foreign invested CMP enterprises or Joint Venture having over 35 per cent shares owned by foreign investors from the previous rate of K500,000. The fees for CMP factories owned by Myanmar Citizens will remain unchanged at K500,000, MGMA stated. — NN/KK
