MYANMAR Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) notified companies and factories to seek CMP import licences before the arrival of raw materials, according to its notification dated 8 June.
Obtaining a CMP import licence takes approximately two weeks. Therefore, calculating the timeline is required to streamline the import process.
The MGMA, on behalf of the CMP Import-Export Supervisory Sub-Committee, screens recommendations for CMP import licenses. Applications are processed through the Ministry of Commerce’s Tradenet 2.0 online system.
When applying for import licenses, traders must strictly adhere to the regulations of the ministry; estimate the timeline and seek a CMP import licence to ensure smooth importation of raw materials, ensuring no discrepancies in CIF value, fabric quantities and CMP-FOB value as stated on invoices and sale contracts, HS code alliance and corresponding value of raw materials and finished products, returning unused import licence. — NN/KK
