A ceremony to inaugurate a basic education middle school (branch) into a basic education middle school took place in Thahtaygon Village, Thandaunggyi Township in Kayin State yesterday.
On the occasion, legislator for Kayin State parliament U Saw Hla Myint, Township Administrator U Zaw Moe Aung, Deputy Township Education Officer U Saw Kalo Di, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sis Thway Paing and a town elder formally opened the upgraded school facility by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

Afterwards, speeches by the lawmaker, the township administrator and the deputy township education officer followed. Concerned officials then presented exercise books and teaching aid materials provided by the Ministry of Education to the students.
The primary school was promoted to post primary school in 2002 and was upgraded to a middle school (branch) in 2013, said U Saw Bu Lu, parent of a student.—IPRD
