An awards ceremony to give prizes who won men’s and women’s mini-marathon competitions was held at the town sports hall in the town of Taungtha, Mandalay region.
The competitions were organized by the township sports and physical education department to mark the 73rd Union Day. At the event, the regional Hluttaw Mp U Sein win gave prizes to those who came first, second and third in men’s mini-marathon competition, while township administrator U Han Zaw Myint presented prizes to those who came first, second and third in the women’s mini-marathon competition. Then, other township officials gave awards to those winning consolation prizes.
The cash prizes are set as K 100000 for the first prize, K 70000 for the second prize, K 50000 for the third prize and K 10000 for each 10 consolation prizes. A total of 73 athletes, 57 men and 16 women, took part in the mini-marathon competitions.—Kyaw Myo Naing (Taung Tha)
