An opening ceremony of border area development project capacity building course was held at Ministry of Border Affairs Assembly Hall yesterday morning.
In his speech at the opening ceremony Union Minister Lt-Gen Ye Aung said the aims of the course were from skillfully conducting surveys to implementing the projects, approach and conduct regional development work from the angles of all round development, understand and conduct prevention and eradication of the danger of drug, understand the development of drug replacement technology and conduct it effectively, connect and cooperate with relevant ministerial departments and organizations and to become capable personnel.
The motto of the ministry was to conduct development of border region ethnic nationals so as there is no difference between states and regions and was implemented through the four policies of stability of border regions, development of border regions, socio-economic development of people living in the border region and human resources development of youth in border region.
In conducting the main duties and responsibilities of the Ministry of Border Affairs, the ministry conducts short, mid and long term projects according to the policy of the Union, guidelines of the Union leaders, the aim of the ministry, pledges and requests of the Hluttaw and representatives, actual requirement of the people in the region, financially appropriateness and in accordance with Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan.
Development and technology changes are quick and personnel needs to develop at the same pace. Courses were being conducted for this and course attendees are to systematically learn the subjects taught and successful conduct project works in places they were assigned said the Union Minister. The opening ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Than Htut, Permanent Secretary, directors general, ministry personnel and course attendees.
