MIU FC secured the mid-season champion with the 2024- 2025 MFF Futsal League 1 reaching its mid-season climax yesterday at the MFF Futsal Stadium in Thuwunna, Yangon.
The final standings were determined after Fixture 9, with MIU and MH Dream Team closely contesting the top position. Before the final match, MIU held a narrow two-point lead over MH Dream Team. With both teams featuring foreign players and national-level athletes, the match turned into a high-intensity showdown.
MH Dream Team struck first in the second minute through Sarid, but MIU equalized in the 19th minute. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw. In the second half, MIU gained momentum with Min Khant scoring in the 28th minute, followed by Ko Ko Lwin in the 38th minute. Although Nyein Min Soe pulled one back for MH Dream Team in the 39th minute but they failed to find another goal and suffered their first defeat of the season.
In other matches, Futsal Chit Thu defeated Generations 3-1, YRG overcame YCDC Marga 3-1, M2K and SGF drew 3-3 while VUC and Winner Soccer played out a 2-2 draw.
At the end of the first half of the season, MIU led the table with 25 points, followed by MH Dream Team with 20 points. YRG had 18 points, Generations 14, M2K 12, VUC 11, YCDC Marga eight, Futsal Chit Thu seven, Winner Soccer six, and SGF four points each. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
