Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) has already brought back over 4,600 Myanmar nationals from abroad in the pandemic period, according to an announcement of the airline issued on 15 September in coincidence with its 72nd anniversary.

Although the number of airline passengers dropped in COVID-19 period, MNA flew its routes for the convenience of their airline passengers.

Additionally, MNA is operating the relief flights to save Myanmar nationals from abroad under the management of the government. Now, MNA has already brought back some 4,600 citizens from abroad by launching the relief flights to 11 international countries with 36 routes.

Moreover, MNA flew its operations not only the relief flights but also the cargo flights as well as the chartered flights to transport over 11,000 passengers and 295 tonnes of cargos.

MNA also flew emergency routes for four times to send the volunteers and the health staff to control the spreading of the coronavirus in Rakhine State during the supposedly second wave of COVID-19 in Myanmar.

Additionally, the airline is running the cargo flights, carrying 12,000 kg of diagnostic machines, medical supplies and PPE suits to Sittway and Kyaukpyu Towns.

MNA brought back a total of 59 Myanmar national students from Wuhan city in China, where the coronavirus was first reported.
