THE 2025 MNL League Cup semifinals will take place on 23 and 24 June at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre in Yangon, with Rakhine United facing Yangon United on the first day and de­fending champions Shan United playing Ayeyawady United on the second.

 

Ayeyawady United are the only new semifinalists among the four teams, while the others are returning for the second straight year. Yangon and Ra­khine United are meeting in the semi­finals for the second consecutive time, with Yangon winning 3-1 in their 2024 encounter. Shan and Ayeyawady United will face each other for the first time in this competition.

 

Shan United and Yangon United are considered the more prepared sides, while Rakhine and Ayeyawady United have shown unexpected strength un­der new coaches with domestic player lineups. The final is scheduled for 6 July. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
