The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Agricul­ture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung participated in the meeting of the ASEAN-Ja­pan Ministers on Agriculture and Forest (AJMAF) virtually yesterday.

At the meeting, Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Mr Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad Bin Sabu and Japanese Minister of Agricul­ture, Forest and Fisheries Mr Miyashita Ichiro delivered the opening speeches.

At the meeting, they dis­cussed the matters on the ASE­AN-Japan Midori cooperation programme and food security and safety, and environmental protection among others.

To mark the 50th ASE­AN-Japan friendly collabora­tion, a paper reading session titled “Promoting Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture and Food System through In­novation” will be held in Ja­karta, Indonesia, in November with the support of the ASEAN and East Asia Economic Re­search Organization. — MNA/ MKKS
