A workshop for promoting bamboo products and export potentials was held on 17 Jan­uary 2025 at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw to enhance Myanmar’s bamboo sector and bolster bamboo exports, according to the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization.

 

Deputy Minister U Min Min for Commerce addressed the objective of the workshop that concerted efforts need to be exerted to create export potential products and double exports through public-pri­vate partnerships following instructions of the head of the State. With the State support­ing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) develop­ment, bamboo value-added production businesses will create job opportunities.

 

He urged to boost ex­ports of bamboo products while observing the display of the bamboo products.

 

Myanmar Trade Promo­tion Organization stated that the workshop also highlight­ed the topics regarding bam­boo market conditions, pro­duction process, value-added production, productivity and bamboo outputs and sustain­able bamboo resources.

 

Officials from the Com­merce Ministry, Myanmar Bamboo Society, Myanmar Arts and Crafts Association, Myanmar Rattan and Bam­boo Entrepreneurs Asso­ciation, Bamboo shoot and bamboo growers’ group and related exporters were pres­ent at the workshop. — NN/ KK
