Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi received Danish Parliament Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Mr Henrik Thorup Gamst and his party at the Education Minister Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

At the meeting, the Union Minister expressed thanks to the Danish people and government for its assistance in educational reforms in Myanmar and ensuring success, as the Ministry of Information is making efforts to provide educational opportunities to all through its basic principles of reducing school drop-out rates and non-discrimination in the education sector.

 

Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi also noted the effectiveness of Danish assistance under the Capacity Development CFund-CDF in building programmes and issuing the teachers-parents guide books, saying that Danish funding has been very effective in assisting in educational reforms in Myanmar.

 

He also expressed the ministry’s willingness to cooperate in the School-Industry Partner-ship-SIP programme as part of the 2020-2030 National Education Strategy Plan.

 

Mr Henrik Thorup Gamist, the leader of the delegation, also discussed future tasks for educational cooperation.

 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun and officials.
