UNION Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin received Ms Ma Jia, Chinese Ambassador to Myan­mar, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

During the meeting, the two parties cordially discussed ongoing projects, enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, investment of Chinese companies in explo­ration, extracting and produc­tion of oil and natural gas in promising offshore blocks in Myanmar, further support for Chinese companies that will cooperate in exploration and drilling processes in offshore blocks, in new oil refinery pro­ject with the crude oil from Southeast Asia crude oil pipe­line and energy projects which are parts of China-Myanmar Economic Corridor Strategic project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

 

Also, present at the meet­ing were the directors-general, managing directors and other relevant officials from the affil­iated department and the Chi­nese Embassy. — MNA/KTZH
