U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Re­public of the Union of Myanmar, received Mr Segundo Martin Calero Escorcia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipoten­tiary of the Republic of Nica­ragua to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, yesterday afternoon at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union minister con­gratulated the Nicaraguan am­bassador on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Republic of the Union of Myan­mar. They cordially exchanged views on matters relating to the enhancement of existing bilateral relations between the two countries, including the re­ciprocal opening of embassies, the expansion of potential, mu­tually beneficial cooperation in tourism, agriculture, trade, and technology, as well as closer collaboration in international arenas. — MNA
