The Consultations between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Security Council of the Russian Federation on Cooper­ation in Law Enforcement and Security were held at MICC II in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

Myanmar delegation led by State Administration Coun­cil Member National Securi­ty Advisor Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Russian delegation led by Security Council Secretary Mr Nilolai Patrushev attended the event.

 

At the meeting, the two parties discussed the bilateral relations in the international arena, military cooperation, military-technical coopera­tion, international information security, interaction between law enforcement organizations, sector-wise cooperation and strategic cooperative partner­ship.

 

Then, the event contin­ued with talks on the topics of “Trade and Economic Coopera­tion”, “Food Security”, “Energy Cooperation” and “Financial Security”.

 

After the discussions, SAC Member National Secu­rity Advisor Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Russian Security Council Secretary Mr Nilolai Patrushev signed an MoU on Myanmar-Russia cooperation and exchanged gifts.

 

Moreover, SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister Un­ion Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo and the Russian Securi­ty Council Secretary signed an MoU on cooperation in interna­tional information security and exchanged gifts.

 

They then had a documen­tary photo taken.

 

The Russian delegates at­tended the dinner hosted by the SAC Member National Securi­ty Advisor Union Minister for Home Affairs in the evening.

 

The Russian delegation ar­rived in Myanmar at 10 pm on 4 December and was welcomed by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Po­lice Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung and relevant officials. — MNA/ KTZH
