UNION Minister Dr Myint Htwe of the Ministry of Health and Sports attended the donation ceremony of medical equipment to the Yangon General Hospital, held at its training hall yester-day.
At the ceremony, Chairman U Aik Htun of the Shwe Taung Group of Companies, on behalf of the donors, said: “We’ve ren-dered our contributions, in one way or another, towards the control and prevention meas-ures against the COVID-19. This meant for the good of the nation and its people. So we’ll keep con-tributing as much as we can in their interests.”
Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe then said that it is im-portant medical equipment for treatment at the hospitals should be prepared while the MoHS has been implement-ing the control and preven-tion measures against the COVID-19, with maximized momentum.
“Today’s donation can ben-efit very well the health workers, who have been giving treatment to patients with communicable diseases. It is essential at the right time. This is a good deed and MoHS thanks the donors,” the minister added.
Minister of Social Affairs U Naing Ngan Lin of Yangon Region also expressed appre-ciation to the donors.
The Union Minister and officials accepted the donation and gave certificates of appre-ciation to the donors.
A total of K232 million and medical equipment were collec-tively donated by the IBPC, the Asia Royal Hospital, the Shwe Taung Group, the GGI Tokio Marine and GGI Nippon Life, the Kyeltagon Foundation, U Su Wai and U Win Naing families, U Thaw Zin family, U Soe Paing family, U Ohn Saing family, U Ne Win family, U Kyaw Aung family, U Yon Mu family, U Aik Sai fami-ly, U Thein Win family, U Tun Oo family, the Tokyu Construction Co.
