THE opening ceremony of the PyinOoLwin Rural Cycling Tour 2025, a tourism develop­ment and promotion initiative organised jointly by the Minis­try of Hotels and Tourism and the Mandalay Region Govern­ment, took place at the district sports ground in PyinOoLwin, Mandalay Region yesterday.

 

The ceremony was attend­ed by Deputy Minister for Ho­tels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe, Minister for Security and Border Affairs of the Mandalay Region Government, Colonel Nay Lin Soe, Mandalay City De­velopment Committee Chair­man, Mayor U Kyaw Hsan, officials from district- and regional-level departments, members of hotel and tourism associations, cyclists, and cy­cling enthusiasts.

 

The deputy minister offi­cially launched the event by firing a gun to signal the start and later welcomed the cyclists who reached Pwekauk Water­fall Resort, presenting them with commemorative gifts and certificates of honour.

 

He then toured the amen­ities available at the Pwekauk Waterfall Resort for visitors to enjoy.

 

Additionally, the deputy minister inspected the Informa­tion Centre established by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism on 68th Street, as well as the op­erations and accommodations at Mandalay Swan Hotel and Tun Hla Hotel.

 

The deputy minister also visited the Mandalay branch office of the Department of Hotels and Tourism, where he met with staff, listened to their concerns, and addressed their needs. — ASH/MKKS
