The Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Education held a coordination meeting through video conferencing yesterday on the progress of textbook production for 2020-2021 academic year.
 

Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint, in his capacity as the chairman of schoolbook printing and distribution committee, said the MoI has completed over 90 per cent of textbook copies under the contract with the MoE.

He also put emphasis on finding solutions for the timely completion of textbook production as some private printing factories reported their difficulties amid the outbreak of COVID-19 although the majority has good timing. Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi stressed the importance of fixed schedule to hand over textbooks to teachers and students as the school opening date is set on 1 June.
 

Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun, Deputy Minster U Win Maw Tun and senior officers discussed about ways to finalize the textbook productions in a timely manner.—MNA
