THE Ministry of Information organized a traditional Myanmar Htamane-making competition in Nay Pyi Taw to preserve cultural traditions, strengthen team spirit among staff, and foster mutual friendship and happiness among departments.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Permanent Secretary U Win Kyaw Aung, departmental heads, judges, and staff enthusiastically participated in the event.

The competition began with judges inspecting the contestants and the display of ingredients before explaining the competition’s rules and regulations. The atmosphere was lively, with drummers, dancers, and singers cheering on the six competing teams: the Ministry of Information, Myanmar Radio and Television, the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Department of Printing and Publishing, the Department of Media Development, and the News and Periodicals Enterprise.

Permanent Secretary U Win Kyaw Aung presented second, third, and consolation prizes to the winning teams, while Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn awarded the first prize to the Minister’s Office team. Following the awards, the Union minister also distributed MRTV DTH devices to 36 team members through a lucky draw. — MNA/MKKS
