UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met the staff of affiliated departments of the ministry at the Community Centre in Myitkyina on Wednes­day.

First, the Union Minister in­spected the Community Centre compound, the displayed ethnic traditional materials, children’s literary books and journals in the kid’s reading room, public li­brary, book rental processes and multimedia room for conducting training courses for locals.

During the meeting with the departmental staff, the Union Minister urged them to under­stand the actual situation of the country, to treat each other like brothers and sisters, and to sup­port each other by showing loyal­ty to the country as government employees.

He continued that all need to understand the nature of media, know the true information and try hard to circulate true news to the public accurately and as quickly as possible.

He then fulfilled the require­ments and gave cash prizes to the staff.

He proceeded to the MRTV Retransmission Station (Myitkyi­na), inspected the broadcasting processes, and met the staff. — IPRD/KTZH
