Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun met with editorial staff of the state-run print media at the Global New Light of Myanmar daily in Yangon yesterday.
Speaking at the meeting, he stressed the importannt role of state-run media in Myanmar and newsworthiness in the state-run dailies.
He also highlighted the importance of mutual understanding and coordination in the newsrooms.
The Deputy Minister also underlined the responsibility and accountability of the editorial staff to ensure publishing flawless stories and creating an own house style.
The Deputy Minister then took coordinated measures in looking into the requirements of the editorial staff.
At the Photolitho Printing Press of the Printing and Publishing Department, he inspected the printing of exercise books for schools and ballots for the soon-to-be-held elections at different levels of the Yangon City Development Committee. He stressed the importance of meeting the time schedule, quality, confidentiality, security and preparedness for natural disasters.
