The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population held talks with the ILO-Luxembourg Project about the medical reform program for social health protection in Myanmar.


Union Minister U Thein Swe hosted Project Manager Mrs Marielle Phe Goursat at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


He explained the goals and objectives for the welfare of workers across the country in accordance with the Social Security Law 2012.


The Social Security Board under this ministry is implementing the medical reform with the assistance of the International Labour Organization by setting three prioritized plans and linking with IT reform.


The Union Minister also asked for sharing knowledge on a proper design and detailed plans for the Social Security Board in developing social health insurance programme that is appropriate for the existing social and economic situations of the country.


The manager of ILO-Luxembourg Project, Mrs Marielle Phe Goursat, presented two PowerPoint technical notes on “Support to the Extension of Social Health Protection in South-East” that is related with the medical reform of Social Security Board.
The Director General of Social Security Board explained the reform plan before the Union Minister and attendees discussed on the topic.
